About Us
Who We Are

We are Steephollow Forgeworks. A Texas family of metal workers. We offer a spacious production facility where vintage and modern processes and machinery are combined with over 80 years of in-shop experience in custom metal fabrication.
Our production capabilities allow us to work with commercial and residential clients in the most modern and traditional ways. Our shop includes MIG, TIG and stick welding capabilities that are often used on custom gates, fences, handrails, stairs, architectural, ornamental and other welded items.
Additionally, our family is trained in the blacksmith art of forging iron. With numerous anvils, swage blocks, gas and coal forges, power hammers, hydraulic and fly presses we are able to create unforgettable custom ironwork that conveys quality in aesthetic and feeling. There is a noticeable difference in quality that can only be conveyed through forging the shape of hot steel.
After practicing blacksmithing for over 14 years we also hold classes to not only teach others to forge, but keep alive an art form that dates back thousands of years.

The Craftsmen
The Brothers-Alan & Jeff Lee After traveling the world and working together since the 1970's, these brothers still work together everyday. Metal fabricating business owners for over 36 years, they found their way into blacksmithing in 2001. They had been welding and fabricating for over 22 years when they fell in love with forging hot metal.
Alan and Jeff have both continued their education at the well-known Austin Community College Metal Arts Program and countless blacksmithing schools and seminars around the country. They also find great pleasure in being a part of g roups that support and promote the art of blacksmithing arts and education. This includes being the hosts of the largest and most free blacksmithing event in Texas. Donations of time and money are given without expectation and in return they have enjoyed making some of he greatest friends the blacksmithing community has to offer. Jeff Lee Jeff's interest in metals started before graduating high school. After attending he attended the Lincoln Electric school in Cleveland, Ohio. He began his welding career as a general and oilfield fabricator but has since found success in commercial, residential and architectural applications. With over 40 years experience, Jeff is capable of working from builders blue prints, shop drawings or helping to create a custom plan to fit a clients unique vision. Alan Lee Alan attended Northeast Louisiana State University before traveling extensively. He was the one to introduce the family to forging iron after going to a meeting of Texas blacksmiths. He came home with an anvil, hammer, tongs and these men have been forging ever since. Alan has been a part of several art shows and has several pieces of public art that have been or are currently displayed around the Bryan-College Station area. Carlton Lee
Carlton grew up in the fabrication shop and has been working with the family business since the late nineties. He has worked his way through college at Texas A&M University studying Agricultural Economics. While working in the community development and real estate development field Carlton continued to take on custom metal projects to continue working with his hands. After being introduced to forging steel and further developing his artistic side, he has been a part of numerous art shows and exhibitions. Joshua Lee Joshua served in the Corp of Cadets and studied Agricultural Leadership at Texas A&M before taking a full-time position with HEB. He continues to work at Steephollow Forgeworks part-time. |
